On the right side of the grip, the Vipera is equipped with a lanyard hole, which can be used to feed a cord through for added retention. The extended tang on the right side also serves as a critical safety mechanism: this prominent finger guard is necessary for any true combat knife, as it prevents your hand from sliding onto the sharp edge during a forceful thrust.

In this first video, we first landed a clean, small cut on the apple which was already a success. The second strike cleanly sliced the apple in half. These videos were captured during my first four attempts, where I was still working on the correct striking technique. ​On the very same apple, I now managed to quarter it while it still remained on the tree.
