Lost Vape Therion 2 DNA 250C Review - The Legend Reawakens

Today I am very excited to bring you a review of what is clearly my favorite mod and chip to this day. having tried hundreds of different mods once the owner of my local vape shop tried to convince me to spend twice as much for a mod with a so called dna chip that is supposed to be way more accurate than any other mod I could buy left me rather unimpressed and disinterested.
At that point I was only a vaper since about 1 year and while I clearly already was seeking what works best I could not quite make myself believe that there is truth to how appraised the vape shop owner made this DNA chip mod sound.

Long story short a month later I had some extra money left over and when I walked into the shop I saw the lost vape therion that dennis (the owner) could not stop recommending and thought why not. The only color available was what I could only describe as orc skin, it looked like leather with pimples on it and was not very visually pleasing, the recommendation of dennis though made me still go for the buy.

When I went home and popped some batteries in the mod and used it with my current sub ohm tank, I was blown away. the dna chipset truly created a whole new experience through its superior accuracy just as dennis described it!

It immediately became my primary mod and soon after I bought the centaurus dna250C in a beautiful gun metal abalone shell design which surely was my favorite mod to this day. I ended up selling that device a year later during a time where vaping became less important to it and it is a decision I regret to this day since sadly the centaurus dna 250C is sold out by now and I could not find it in stock at any online shop.

Being without a DNA mod for the last two years I saw the release of the therion 2, a dna 250C chipset like the centaurus that is a successor of the original therion 166C which I never got to try but based on reviews i've seen was a true classic and well appreciated lost vape mod. in fact it was so loved that reviewers and costumers have been pushing lost vape to create a new therion which now they did! Enough introductory talk for now, let me introduce the lost vape therion 2
In this review I am not going to go over the specifics of the DNA250C chip itself as there are countless other reviews of it out there and to me it is safe to say that it is the best chip currently available

Packaging

The Therion 2 comes in what I would undoubtedly call the most high quality packaging that I have ever seen on a box mod or any vape item for that matter. the box alone is worth taking various photos of!

Design and Build quality

While the side panel is equipped with real carbon fibre, the battery door itself is also made of real leather which gives this mod a truly high end look and feel.
The therion 2 is fully pvc plated which is the best plating technology currently available, this protects the device in case of drops or impacts. while the mod is certainly not ip67 waterproof rated the pvc plating does make it more resistant towards water damage.

One thing i noticed about the battery door is that it feels kind of awkward putting in the second battery on the right mainly because it feels like its kind of just barely hanging in the terminals instead of fitting snug. I realized after using the mod for a while that this does not present a problem at all and there is no battery rattle with the door attached. the cloth in the mod is used to easily remove the batteries after installation

The top of the mod has the same beautiful engraving that lost vape dna box mods are known for. the 510 pin is spring loaded which enables it to make a good connection with your atomizer. Unlike many other mods I have never experienced any resistance reading errors with the DNA250C chipset.

Mind that you will only be able to fit up to a 25mm atomizer on here without overhang. it is pretty much the only real con I have with most lost vape dna mods. the therion, thelema and centaurus all do not have enough space to accommodate larger atomizers which I love to use and while lost vape used to have devices like the triade or the drone which had a lot more space, those mods are all mostly sold out. nevertheless the therion is a truly shines with any atomizer that actually fits on it!
Before trying one of my rebuildables on top of the therion 2 I decided to equip it with the tfv18, mainly because i want to test how well the DNA chip performs at high wattages on a sub ohm tank which was something i used to love on my thelema.

This tank actually has slight overhang on the sides but it is barely noticeable so I went with it. anything larger than the tfv18 is not going to work well on this mod.

After using the tfv18 on the therion 2 with great results I decided to use the tauren solo 1.5 single coil on it which proved to be an amazing experience as well.
The DNA chips accuracy truly shines with rebuildables like this that require precise wattage. It also works amazingly with MTL setups which I currently do not use but having used the expromizer v4 on my thelema I can say that if you love mtl rta's you will love the DNA chipset.

Ultimately, the LVE Therion 2 DNA250C stands out as a more than worthy
successor to the original, solidifying its place as a top-tier device. At its heart, the Evolv DNA250C chipset truly shines, delivering consistently superior accuracy and a refined vaping experience with any compatible atomizer (up to 25mm without overhang).
However, no device is without its minor drawbacks. Subjectively, some users might find the 25mm atomizer limit a constraint if they prefer larger setups. More tangibly, while the Therion 2 shares a strong aesthetic lineage with its sibling, the Thelema, it's worth noting that custom Thelema battery doors are not interchangeable – a small point for those who might own both. The more significant con, in my opinion, is the current lack of customization options directly for the Therion 2 itself. With only four stock color variations and no official aftermarket battery doors available for purchase, it feels like a missed opportunity for a device that many vapers would love to personalize. I can't see a strong reason for this limitation.
If I could offer one piece of advice to LVE/Lost Vape, it would definitely be this: consider releasing a wider variety of official battery doors for the Therion 2. Allowing users to easily customize its look would undoubtedly be a huge hit and further enhance its appeal.
